This Journal is for you to create and record ideas, learning, feelings and thoughts and choose to share these with your teacher, a parent or someone else who is important in your life.
This journal will show you that being ‘you’ is very unique and because you are one of a kind, reflecting on your learning is personal but sharing learning with another person, helps you retain knowledge.
You will also learn about your brain. You only get one brain and knowing all about it helps you use it to its full extent. Your brain is an organ, but you will learn how to improve it like it’s a muscle.
This journal will help you understand mindsets and emotions, showing you that you are in control and the ‘boss’ of your own feelings and thoughts; you have superpowers!
There are lots of ways to ‘think about your own thinking’ and this is called metacognition; this includes all the strategies to make your biggest strengths even stronger!
It’s time to rethink the possible:
• intelligence can be learned
• the biggest barrier to this is emotional resistance
• emotional resilience can be taught—helping students develop the capacity to embrace the need for change.
